Taking a cue from F1, it allows one to easily remove the steering wheel of an E-type. It’s a boon for ingress and egress (something the designers of the 300SL Gullwing realized) when dealing with the high sills of an E-type. It also makes a great theft deterrent.

Fitting is relatively simple and if you are careful you can simply undo the lower U/J draw out the standard shaft and insert the new shaft. Tighten the U/J and fit the Steering Wheel with the boss attached. No drilling required and you can return to standard specification just as easy.

The beautifully machined alloy boss with a splined shaft will take the stock 15″ wheel and those made by Moto-Lita.
